DepEd Will Soon Introduce Korean Subject In Public High Schools!

Nowadays, many people around the world are getting crazy over those Korean Drama or also known as “K-Drama”




Kdrama is a drama made in Korea, mostly in a miniseries format. However, Kdramas are extremely popular all over the world, especially in teenagers, as some of those dramas are giving a “Kilig” or romantic excitement to the viewers.

As Kdramas are made in a Korean language with an English subtitles, many people wish to learn Korean language for them to understand and feel the voice of each and every character of the film.

However, recently, the DepEd announced that they are going to introduce Korean Subject in publish high schools in Manila. The high school students in public schools will soon be taught how to speak Korean language.

"The DepEd will introduce Korean language as a second foreign language and elective through a pilot program which will be conducted starting this year in select 10 high schools in Metro Manila," the education department said in a statement.”

According to the Korean Ambassador, Kim Jae Shin, learning the Korean language will provide better opportunities and education grants in Korea.

“Language is very important so teaching and studying [foreign languages] in schools is very helpful to deepen the bilateral understanding between two nations," Shin added.

Moreover, aside from Korean language, the DepEd’s Special Program in Foreign Language also offer Spanish, French, Nihongo, German and Mandarin.
